Hiking TRIPS

          If rocky ridges and heights above 2000 meters attracts your wanderlust, the Meridional Carpathians are a perfect destination for You! The Retezat-, Făgăraș-, Parâng-, Bucegi or Piatra Craiului- hiking paths lead to heights where you can find beautiful glacial lakes, glacial valleys and rock labyrinths. While wandering around on the mountain ridges the alpine landscape, the unique flora and fauna, the energy of the elements will give You the taste of freedom.

        If you want to learn about water and limestone interaction which results surface and underground forms like caves, karst landscapes and visiting dense pine forest covered karst regions, where gushing groundwater forms beautiful rock gorges appeals to you, the Western Carpathians, the Padiș plateau and the Trascău Mountains have the right trails for you.

           The Eastern Carpathians offer what is probably the most diverse landscape in Romania, because glacial-, volcanic- and karstic- forms can all be found here. The Rodnei Mountains offer remarkable alpine landscapes, the Ciucaș and Ceahlău mountains abound in conglomerate labyrinths, while the white limestone rocks which represent the Hașmaș Mountains serve its visitors with unforgettable experiences.

Wild camping

        Did you ever wake up in the middle of the wilderness, unzip your tent and saw the beautiful mountains around you in the sunrise? Did you sleep near a glacier lake or a mountain peak above the clouds?

         We have good news for you if you would like to wild camp in Transylvania we know a lot of untamed places where you have no phone signal but you will find a better connection with Mother Nature.

        Where you can pitch your tent in the Carpathian Mountains? We will show you some of our favourite spots.

If you would like to wild camp with us you will have to be in good physical condition to be able to carry a 15-20 kg backpack at least for 2-3 days. You should expect 5-6 hour hiking per day. 

What do you have to put in your backpack if you would like to join us?

  • A tent/1-2 person 
  • Sleeping bag and mat
  • Camel-back filled with water, after you will finish it probably we will reach the firs mountain spring
  • Food for as many days as we are planning the hike
  • Water and windproof jacket, polar blouse, short and long trousers, t-shirts
  • Sun cream, sunglasses
  • Hat, headlight
